Ask curious questions from a place of love and compassion. Listen deeply. Notice miracles happening as you discover their light, and your own. (yes, even when “they” are the “most difficult person in the world”)

There’s a practice I teach called “clearing.” You start meetings or team huddles by inviting people to say what they need to say to clear their minds, to be present. It sounds a little touchy-feely but what you are saying to your team is, “I see you, I hear you, and I care.” And that, my friends, increases engagement, reduces stress, and improves retention.
